PAUL WILLIAMS
Biography
Biography
It would seem most likely that a
child from the tough streets of Manchester’s
Moss side, would be destined for the type of lifestyle such
surroundings
normally yield.
Paul’s musical destiny was
defined
when a month after he was born his mother purchased a Guitar,
Paul then had
access to his first
guitar long before he was big enough to play it. Though these early
years and
the physical limitations did not allow him to play, it was not long
before he
started to hone his God given gift.
Paul was inspired as a Junior by
his uncle who regularly played guitar in the reggae bands Pressure
Shocks and Junior
C Reaction.
It was this musical experience that
opened his young eyes to the importance of rhythm and groove. Ask anyone that has heard
Paul play and they
will comment on the incredible rhythm and soulful groove that abounds
every
time he picks up his instrument.
Not dissimilar to a Buffalo
in search of
pastures new, Paul’s musical journey has been a long and
winding one. His
insatiable thirst for musical knowledge has
been satisfied at the watering
holes of Earl Klugh, George Benson, Paul
Jackson Jnr, Wes Montgomery and Larry Carlton…To name but a
few. Fragments of
each of these musical icons can
be heard in each one of Paul’s musical tapestries.
Paul sees his exposure to the
Church in his teenage years and through out his life as the turning
point
As this gave him the opportunity to
travel and play with Gospel Artists through out the country.
During which he supported Gospel
act Commissioned at the height of their UK
touring years.
This allowed Paul to Hone his
skills as a performer writer musician and Artist which would follow in
later
years.
As an artist Paul was a founding
member of the instrumental group Collaboration this band played through
out the
country in many national functions within the church. Members of this
group
were Cassius Chambers Kelly Phillips and Mark Bunney who left to go on
to Berklee

exhibit the colours of
joy he so freely talks about.

as his,

hearts of
all those who care to listen. Hearing
him play is a joyful and uplifting experience.
